Tom Keating

Tom Keating

Founder

Tom studied at Sheffield University achieving BEng Civil & Structural Engineering CEng, MICE, MIStructE.

He began his career as a Design Engineer at The South African Department of Water Affairs, Pretoria, South Africa, before returning to the UK to start a family in 1986, whilst growing his career and eventually becoming Principal Engineer at Burks Green and Partners. In 2002, Tom formed Tom Keating and Associates Limited and from there the company has flourished and helped support a growing family, building a trustworthy and respected name within the industry.

Managing Director

David has been in the building industry since he was 16, starting out as a joiner working his way up to site manage. However, after an unfortunate injury David found himself at a desk working within a design team lead by Tom. From this opportunity David thrived going from Business Development Coordinator to Design Manager. During all of this he found time to help set up the first regional branch of Young Rail Professionals in the East Midlands – involved for 3 years as Treasurer, Vice Chair and Chair.

Throughout his career he has worked on a variety of projects giving him varied and extensive experience in engineering; Edinburgh to Glasgow Electrification, Gospel Oak to Barking OLE Renewals and Battersea Power Station Developments.

Mark - Engineer

Mark Tuck

Senior Engineer

Mark graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Engineering Second Class honours (1st Division) in Civil Engineering. Mark has 18 years experience of design consultancy working in a variety of sectors from rail infrastructure, including design and specification for signalling gantries and platform extensions, to new builds, from Retail stores to residential estates, and is now close to gaining his chartership. 

In May 2019 Mark joined TKA, he had previously worked with David building a brilliant working relationship and friendship over the years, so when the opportunity came to join, Mark knew this was the role for him.   

Harriet Keating

Harriet Swift

Commercial Manager

Harriet has 15 years experience in the retail and hospitality industry and during this time has built great customer service skills, always wanting to provide the best service for the customer / client. Within her career Harriet has held the role of supervisor and manager with responsibilities for stock management, overseeing of finances, compiling reports and maintaining records.

In December 2019 Harriet joined the TKA team, with our encouragement and support Harriet has made this role her own, moving from an administrative role to Commercial Manager.    

Matt - Engineer

Matthew Fayle

Engineer

Matthew studied at Derby and Sheffield University gaining a Bachelor of Engineering (honours). Throughout this time, his most memorable research projects covered the storage of nuclear waste and post tensioned stone structures. Matthew has held the role of President of The Student ICE Committee and helped organise and judge the Concrete cube challenge. Matthew’s interests are not limited to engineering, whilst living in Japan he has been a business and science advisor to various companies and tutored Maths and Science.

In September 2020 we had the privilege of Matthew joining TKA, with him he has brought an eagerness to learn and evolve as an engineer and is now working towards his chartership.
